The Mouse Ate the Sage and I Got the Mouse
Now I can't show the picture of the trapped mouse but I can show additional damage I found. Mice and rabbits have interesting habits. They will chew a plant down in a way that they eat the leaves but the stem survives. This allows the plants to regrow leaves. Here is a full hedged cell of sage. No leaves left but one seedling.

One tip from our pest-control inspection work: when a mouse shows up indoors, the real fix is finding how it got in. Mice only need a dime-sized hole to slip through, so sealing gaps around pipes, doors, and the foundation (what we call exclusion) keeps the next one from following.
